Every December to close out the year, Blue Crab CrossFit has a countdown to Christmas that includes challenges for you to complete outside of our group classes. This year, we’ve revamped the challenge and are offering Rogue gift cards to our top three highest scoring individuals!

What: BCCF Countdown to Santa Claws

Challenges will be announced every two days until Christmas!

When: December 1 – 24th

Why do we do this? We want you to challenge yourselves outside of the group classes, whether it’s nutrition related, conditioning, strength, gratitude – all of these things are important challenges that will help you improve as an athlete at Blue Crab CrossFit. Additionally, when you share your experience on social media that helps us out, so it’s a win-win – you improve yourself as an athlete while helping spread the word about your favorite small business – Blue Crab CrossFit!

Rules:

  • It’s FREE to Sign up! Send an email to let us know you’re in!
    • If you do not complete at least three challenges, then you owe $10 to the penalty bucket, which will be donated to a charity.
      • Why a penalty? If you commit to something, we want you to embrace it and not fall off the wagon. Get your challenges done early and you won’t have to think about the penalty bucket! We’ve front-loaded the equipment related challenges early, so that if you travel for the holidays, you can complete the other challenges at home!
  • To get credit for the challenge, you must complete the challenge:
    • You earn one point per challenge.
    • You can earn an additional one point by posting on a social media platform using the two hashtags #bccf #bccfcommunity and tagging Blue Crab CrossFit
      • Social Media includes Instagram and/or Facebook
    • You can get up to TWO bonus points if you complete the challenge before the next is announced and post about it on social media.
    • Total points available per challenge = 4
      • 1 for the challenge
      • 1 for posting on social media
      • 1 if you complete the challenge before the next is announced
      • 1 for if you post about it before the next challenge is announced
  • Once the challenges and/or post are completed, record your completion on the Google Sheet (honor system – only mark for yourself!).
    • We’ve included an example of an entry under “Santa Claws” for you to see how to populate the sheet. Note, you may see a hint to the first challenge if you investigate this!
  • All challenges must be completed by December 24th

Prizes:

Rogue gift cards for the top three highest points individuals! If there is a tie, we’ll spin the wheel to determine the winner!

1st: $100

2nd: $50

3rd: $25

Bring Your Own Shaker This Wednesday!

We’ve been talking about bringing Podium Products to BCCF for a while and we’re finally getting it!

This Wednesday only, bring your own shaker to class to try a Podium product on us! You’ll get to choose from the following three: pre-workout, whey, or hydro + salt (electrolytes). If you forget your shaker or don’t have one, we have some for sale at our store.

We want you to be able to try these products before ordering a whole container, so after you try it and if you like it, we’ll have a pre-order open where you can receive 10% off all products on the list if you enter your name by November 25th. Here’s the pre-order sheet if you already know you want to give them a try!

Why Podium Products?

At Blue Crab CrossFit, when we offer products at our store, we only will offer products that we will use that aren’t full of artificial ingredients and will help support your performance at the gym. After nearly a year of consulting with athletes, coaches, and gym owners, their team has created complete disclosure products that are responsive to the community’s needs and effective for all athletes–whether it’s high-intensity interval training, weightlifting, or endurance sports.

BCCF Holiday Party

We’re in the process of planning this now. Mark your calendars for December 10th!

We’re finalizing the details, but plan for opening the doors around 1pm, corn hole, good food, great company!

24th: Holiday Hours: 8:15 and 10:15am classes only

22nd: 10 Days of BCCF Christmas WoD

25th: Closed for Christmas

26 – 29th: Light Class Week

Due to low attendance last year during this week, hours will be:

26th: 8:15 and 10:15am Class, 9:15 – 10:15am Open Gym

27th: 7:30am, Noon, 4:20pm, 5:30pm, 6:40pm

28th: 6am, 7:30am, Noon, 4:20pm, 5:30pm

29th: 7:30am, Noon, 4:20pm, 5:30pm

January

1st: 10am class only – let’s kick off the New Year Together!

Upcoming BCCF Events

December 10th – BCCF Holiday Party

December 15th & 17th – Volunteering to Prepare Dinner @ the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore.

We can have up to 10 people (anyone over 13 years old) attend each day. We’ll cook dinner for 60+ people. The donation for the food is $25 per person which will be used to purchase the ingredients and activities for the kids.

Please RSVP here by November 18th. If you can’t make the food preparations, donations are still welcome to buy extra goodies for the kids.

January 8 – 13th – Member Appreciation Week

Thanking our members for an amazing 2023! Give aways and awards to be presented!

January 15 – 20th – Bring a Friend Week

Spread the word now! Try BCCF for an entire week for free! If your friend signs up for a membership or Foundations, they’ll receive $75 off and you’ll get a $75 credit!
